Since the summer of 2010, City Service has been actively involved in the Our Neighbourhood social project being implemented throughout Lithuania. The project is an initiative of the National Association of Building Administrators (NPAA) and with the cooperation of the population and administrators is aimed at the revival of the environment in neighbourhoods and encouragement of the community to take care of common property.  

After City Service joined the Our Neighbourhood initiative, new playgrounds for children were built in the Lazdynai and Viršuliškės quarters of Vilnius in autumn 2010.

Playgrounds were renovated in the Dainava quarter of Kaunas and in Klaipėda. Outdoor exercise facilities for elderly people were provided in the Pašilaičiai and Karoliniškės quarters of Vilnius. Many wards in Vilnius, Kaunas, and Klaipėda are delighted to have renovated outdoor basketball courts and new basketball backboards.

Our Neighbourhood also encourages the social activity of apartment building cooperatives: it initiates various events, festivals, and competitions for the population. In autumn, a children’s drawing competition, The Neighbourhood of my Dreams, was held in Kaunas and Klaipėda. A national Christmas wishes competition for children was organised as well.  

In December, thanks to the Our Neighbourhood initiative, 19 wards in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai, and Radviliškis lit Christmas trees and held Christmas celebrations for children.

Our Neighbourhood encouraged Lithuanians to take part in the creation of a Christmassy atmosphere in their quarters and invited them to take part in the Most Beautiful Christmas Balcony competition.

City Service is the first apartment building management company which expressed its support for the Our Neighbourhood initiative. The company contributes to this project by providing both human resources and financial assistance.
